A provisional living space for the emergency gathering of boys and girls of up to 6 to 12 years old coming directly from the street giving attention to their basic needs (hygiene, food, education, health) and developing socio educational activities. The children remain sheltered for a period of up to three months, during which time they study and accompany each child´s case /proposal for reintegrating back into his family or being referred to another shelter.

The Centro de Passagem has been a successful new experience allowing for the whole development of the children in a free and dignified manner allowing them access to basic rights as laid out in brazilian legislation, thus reverting the daily stigma these children carry. We believe in the possibility of proposing a regenerative experience during this time through social educational action, contributing to the transformation of these children´s lives.
